Gujarat Titans secured their third victory of the season as they defeated Punjab Kings by seven wickets in the 18th match of the IPL 2023 played at Mohali. On the other hand, Punjab Kings faced their second defeat of the season. Punjab Kings set a target of 154 runs for Gujarat Titans after batting first. However, defending champions Gujarat Titans chased down the target with four wickets in hand.
Opener Shubman Gill played a match-winning knock for Gujarat Titans. However, the match was in the balance when Shubman Gill got out in the final over. Gujarat Titans needed four runs off two balls, and it was Rahul Tewatia who hit a boundary on the last ball to give his team a much-needed victory.
The Punjab Kings won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a shaky start as they lost their first wicket in the first over itself. In conclusion, Gujarat Titans played an all-round game to secure their third victory of the season. Their bowlers did a fantastic job to restrict the Punjab Kings to a modest total, and their batsmen chased down the target with ease. Shubman Gill played a match-winning knock, but it was Rahul Tewatia who provided the finishing touch to give his team a much-needed victory.
